This world. I mean every day there is some new batch of horrible to comprehend. A spot of kindness and good news is most welcome indeed. And on the design shopping front this comes in the form of the new Love Home tiles from the team at Casa Cubista. Proprietors and creators Arren Williams (above left) and David Pimentel are donating proceeds from the sale of their Love Home tiles to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to support those fleeing dangerous zone to try to find a new home to love. Well done gentlemen. Arren and David launched their handcrafted homewares line in 2016 and operate from a homebase in Olhao, Portugal. The Casa Cubista range is built around the traditional crafts of the region, ceramics, tiles, textiles, weaving, needlecrafts and more.

Love Home tiles are 14cm square, are handmade in Portugal and come in cream or black background with reversed lettering.I have to say I am quite mesmerized by the graphic the way the L becomes an H and the V is a V but also an M. It's genius in the Robert Indiana tradition.

Style them a million different ways — frame and hang them on a wall, place one tile on a stack of books on your coffee table, lean one on the mantel, add felt buttons to the bottom and use one as a trivet for your teapot. Buy a Love Home tile — or several — so that others can have a home to love.

And more congrats are due to Arren and David with the happy news that Casa Cubista wares can now be found on the shelves at Le Bon Marché Paris. What a dream that must be! (That's their black and white striped pitcher above).

I snagged my own little crocheted David Pimentel original at the Casa Cubista pop up at Saudade in Toronto in the fall. It has taken turns as a pen holder and plant cachepot chez #AustinSuite.
